Pilgrimage day of St. Arakelots Monastery of Sevan


Under the presidency of the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the Feast of Pentecost is proclaimed the pilgrimage day of St. Arakelots Monastery of Sevan. Traditionally that day sacred relics are brought into the Church. This year the procession of priests brought the relics of St. Thaddeus and St. Andreas to St. Arakelots Monastery.

This Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost


On June 8, the Armenian Apostolic Church will celebrate the Feast of the Coming of the Holy Spirit, the Pentecost. It is the commemoration of the coming of the Holy Spirit onto the disciples, which took place on the fiftieth day of the Holy Resurrection. On the Feast of Pentecost is also the pilgrimage day of St. Arakelots Monastery in Sevan. On that very day the relics of disciples will be taken to the Monastery.

St. Hovhannes Church of Koghb village consecrated


On June 1, St. Hovhannes Church of the borderland village Koghb was consecrated. The ceremony was attended by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. The Church will serve three communities of Noyemberyan region – Koghb, Berdavan and Noyemberyan.

Republic Day in Sardarapat Memorial


On May 28, the President of Armenia,Serzh Sargsyan and the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II visited the Sardarapat Memorial. This year the festivity was attended by Aram I the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia. The President Serzh Sargsyan bestowed Movses Khorenatsi medal to Rev. Father Vardan Navasardyan, the Director of Christian Education Center of the Mother See who is in charge of overseeing teaching of the Armenian Church History in public schools.

Launching the project “Days of Nor Jugha”


Within the scope of “Community Days in Armenia”, the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia jointly with the Armenian Diocesan board of Isfahan and Mashtots Matenadaran, organized a “Days of Nor Jugha” program dedicated to the Iranian Armenian community. Second day of the symposium on the Armenian Church, education, science and culture was chaired by Bishop Mikael Ajapahyan. The two-day event was organized by the Office of Ecclesiastical Liturgical Issues of the Mother See to shape the social concept of our Church. Opening of Spiritual-Cultural Center in Abovyan city


The Spiritual-Cultural Center St. Stephen of Abovyan city built by the philanthropy of Murad Grigoryan is already operational. The blessing of the four corners of the world was served by the Primate of Kotayk Diocese Bishop Arakel Karamyan.

Conference in the Ministry of Defense


A conference on “Destructive Confessions and Disgraceful Habits as Threat to Defense” was organized in the RA Ministry of Defense.The Minister proposed identifying the real picture and scope of spread of destructive confessions in the army and not to spare efforts to preserve the unified spirit of the Armenian army.

Students of Paris College “Dprotsaser (School-Loving)” in the Mother See


Every year, the students of the Armenian College of Paris “Dprotsaser” come to Holy Etchmiadzin with Sarkis Petrossian, the benefactor of the Armenian Church to receive the blessing of the Patriarch of All Armenians. Many of them are in Armenia for the first time.

Opening of the Doors Service (Drnbatsek) at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


In the evening of Palm Sunday, during the Divine Liturgy, Opening of the Doors Service is offered. It is performed in the form of dialogue between the priests kneeling in front of the closed altar and those beyond the curtain. The curtained altar symbolizes the kingdom of Heaven.
